Bachelors of Business Administration (Foreign Trade)

Foreign Trade mainly deals with the exchange of capital, goods, and services across the various international borders. With the advent of Globalisation, the whole world has become one single market. Foreign companies are establishing bases for manufacturing in India while exporting the production to third countries. Domestic companies are expanding their business beyond national boundaries to fill the gap too. There is a huge requirement of people who can handle exports and imports, international logistics, and are also aware of the Foreign Trade Policies of both the countries they are dealing with. This course prepares the student to handle all the aspects of actual transactions that takes place and are equipped with the different incentive schemes the Government has put in place to promote exports from the country. BBA Foreign Trade is a 3-year undergraduate degree that focuses on teaching students about the fundamentals of foreign trade and its importance in the Indian Economy. Being a career-oriented course, it opens wide opportunities for the graduates of the course at the completion of their degree. They can find lucrative job opportunities at Export Units, Export Promotion Councils, Trade Regulatory Bodies, MNCs etc.

Syllabus as per New Education Policy BBA (Foreign Trade):

Principles of Business Administration (Major 1): Course is is designed to give an overview of major issues confronting managers in the export –import business in the structuring of their organisation and making optimal use of the resources to achieve the objectives of the organization. Students will learn about all managerial functions, the evaluation of theories, the planning system, and the contingency approach to Management.

Global Business Environment and Communication (Major 2): The objective of this course is to familiarise the student with the environmental factors that have a profound impact on export business and to explain how to adjust with changing macro and micro situations. Students will be able to understand the terminology of import-export business and will be equipped with expertise in writing global business letters.

Basic Mathematics and Statistics (Minor):The objective of this course is to expose the student to various mathematical techniques used in foreign trade and to teach them the statistical tools needed for analysing and interpreting business facts and graphic presentations.

Business Law (Elective) : The objective of this course is to give basic knowledge of important business and economic laws applicable to Indian business houses so that decisions are taken within the legal framework.

International Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Vocational) : The objective of this subject is to understand how the chain involved in marketing and distribution is working and decide the routing and scheduling of the product. Student will be able to understand Logistic Management, Multimodal transport, Commercial geography, Warehousing and inventory Management.

Foundation Course (English& Hindi) : Reading, Writing and Interpretation Skills, Comprehension Skill, Basic Language Skills and Basic Grammar.

Foundation Course (Environmental Studies) : Student will be able to understand Environment and Natural Resources, Biome, Ecosystem and Biodiversity and Environmental Pollution, Management and Social Issues.

Foundation Course (Yoga and Dhyaan) : Students will learn practical and theoretical knowledge about Yoga and Yogic Practices, Breathing Practices and Pranayama and Practices leading to Meditation.
